Sir,—I am doing a bit of research for native New Yorker Tom Mannix, who has an engineer’s pocket-watch that he inherited from his father, who told him that it belonged to his great-grandfather. He is interested in some information on the Limerick and Waterford Railway Company and the Sligo to Claremorris and Castlebar line of the Great Southern Railways during the late 1800s. He has established that his ancestor Michael Mannix worked on various lines there for 55 years before retiring in 1932 and thinks that the watch may have been for his retirement. If any reader can help me I would be very grateful.—Yours etc.,
