The seventh annual Norman Connection conference will be held, as usual, on the last weekend in September (25-27) in Fethard-on-sea, County Wexford. The conference examines aspects of Gaelic and Anglo-Norman society and settlement with particular reference to south Wexford. Fethard-on-sea, located in the area of initial Anglo-Norman activity in Ireland is the ideal venue in which to examine the culture clash between Gael and Norman and the surviving elements of the resulting society and landscape. This year’s contributors will include Alf O’Brien, John Gillingham, Tadhg O’Keefe, Jean Michel Picard, Betty McKenna and Kevin Whelan.
