Wolfhound ’99
On Sunday 3 October 1999 the Wildgeese Wargames Club is hosting Wolfhound ’99, a day long event at the National Museum, Collins Barracks, that will commemorate the Irish military tradition in a way that will engage the public imagination. Based on the twin themes of The Evolution of Warfare in Ireland and The Irish Military Diaspora, it will draw together the skills and expertise of military historians, military modellers, historical wargamers and living history societies. It will involve the illustration of selected Irish battles and campaigns through the complimentary media of short public lectures, historical simulations, military dioramas and ‘living history’ displays by selected historical re-enactment societies.
